May is Mental Health Month, and during this time The Makeshift Movement in collaboration with Oceanside SAFE Coalition joins with other organizations to raise awareness and break the stigma about mental illness & substance abuse.
This year, from May 4 – 8, we are hosting a Virtual Wellness Week that will provide resources, education materials, and ways to address your own physical, mental, and spiritual health.
Each day will have a theme and have links to a variety of activities, including options to be active at home, mindfulness practices, and even recipes for you and your families.
While 1 in 5 people will experience a mental illness during their lifetime, everyone faces challenges in life that can impact their mental health. As we continue to shelter in place during the COVID-19 crisis, we hope to encourage you to find ways to improve your wellbeing, and the wellbeing of those around you.
This is a difficult time for us all, and we’re all facing our own unique challenges in getting through the day-to-day. Some of the resources, videos, and tips below may work for you—and some may not. And that’s okay. These are just suggestions, and we hope that one or two might help you during this time
